artist statement

My work stems from a fascination with intimacy, the naked female body, and the ways in which we look — and are looked at. In my paintings, I explore the tension between distance and closeness, between revealing and concealing.

Photography is an essential part of my process: through the camera, I capture images that help me frame, focus on details, and bring to light the fleeting moments that often fade into the background.

The bodies I depict are often anonymous, but never impersonal. They are my models, my lovers, my own body. I don’t work from direct translations of photographs, but from a desire to hold on to fleeting, intimate moments.
What remains unseen is just as important as what is shown.
